......just don't get why when we have clearly needed the RB and striker farce fixed for 2 years we signed another CB and winger who do not appear so far to have improved us?
Our utterly clueless owners sold a "proven british / prem player" in Tonka, then after our summer business predictably was a disaster suddenly announce that our latest in the hoof policy is to sign er "proven british / prem players" It makes even less sense considering NONE of the 3 CBs they kept as back up are deemed good enough even when there is an injury so Koyoute is stuck there instead.

He is not as bad as being made out and I'm sure our fullbacks and midfielders don't help, but is he really any better than Tomkins who is a lit younger, on less wages and would die for the club being a local accademy graduate.

Another in a long line of utter dogshit 'super' Slav has lumbered us with this season. 20 odd million on this cunt and Snodgrass is some desperate short sighted fantasy football transfers. We never learn do we?
Can't wait for the summer window to see what other woeful shit we'll chuck ridiculous money at.

I read that Fonte signed up for 70k per week and so upset Reid who must be thinking I am younger, better and now asked for the same. I am not sure either deserve it? We've had our pants pulled down, Southampton must be pissing themselves £10m?
Oh then there is Ogbonna who will want the same when he comes back, no surprise we are missing him as he is our best defender even though he struggled with injury.

I think Fonte is decent, the midfield however is non existent and teams walk right through us. Something has to change.

Not often I have the occasion to agree with Zero, but this is one. The sight of a defender more intent on protecting his crutch than blocking a shot is hardly going to put the wind up an English team, and Fonte is not an asset in this respect.

Hmmm. But when Collins plays under the same circumstances there are no excuses, he is just past-it?
I don't see anything in Fonte that's better than Collins and he lacks Ginge's leadership qualities, passion and pride in the shirt.
A complete waste of money.

We flogged off a decent home grown CB and kept a 33 year old Collins as 5th choice, loaned out 2 promising home grown CBs and then signed yet another 33 year old CB and another average winger whilst we still have no RB or striker options after 2 years.
Quite frankly the club don't have a clue and the owners should stick to selling dildos. Billic is just as responsible for this shambles too.

Ah, so he has turned out to be a crap signing after all. Weird because everyone on here told me he was a brilliant signing.

No RB or striker half the time for the last 2 years, the idiots running the club ignore that 2 windows in a row and instead go and sign yet another average winger and A 33 year old CB. This after flogging a perfectly good home grown CB who was younger and loaning out two other very promising homegrown CBs and keeping Collins at 33 who was clearly past his best last year. Still playing without a RB and striker half the time and guess what......WE ARE FUCKING SHIT!
The club do not know what the fuck they are doing. We need new owners and a new manager, past a joke now.

''To be fair to Fonte he is used to playing with a couple of decent full backs and 2 defensive midfielders...''
Nah. I don't buy into this theory that a player needs help around him to be any good.Let's not make excuses for him. I mainly judge players on their own individual ability and performances, and he looks poor. Slow, flat footed, no turn of pace and no leadership qualities. He got turned inside out for the first goal, gave away a ridiculous penalty, not to mention the rest of his game, and that's against Bournemouth.

Re: Jose Fonte

I think centre back is one of the easiest positions for a player to be made to look shite because of what's going on around him
We currently have a really out of form left back, no right back, a midfield that plays at a snails pace and gets over run and a system where we fail to keep the ball and just lump it tona bignmanuo front and watch as it comes straight back at us
Fonte is a very good player but not a miracle worker.

Re: Jose Fonte

Agree with Willtell. Not going to judge him whilst we play with no proper right back, no defensive midfield and zero pace in either fullback or midfield. Center half's would mostly get torn a new one in those circumstances.

So we flogged off Tomkins, loaned out Oxford and Burke and kept Collns as back up so we could waste 8m on a 33 year old.
IDIOTIC!
